Even 1

Even 1, Events, Prayer

WHAT

Even 1 is a annual week-long prayer event where we set aside at least 1 hour per day to pray and seek the Lord for our church, our families, our community and whatever else is on our hearts.

We encourage you to make it a point to come to at least 1 meeting.

WHEN

Wednesday, January 5  -  6:30am / noon / 7pm

Thursday, January 6 -  noon / 3pm

Friday, January 7  -  noon

Saturday, January 8  -  6pm

Sunday, January 9  -  6pm

Monday, January 10 -  noon / 3pm

Tuesday, January 11  -  10am / 4pm

Wednesday, January 12  -  6:30am / noon / 7:00pm

WHY

Even 1 comes from thinking about Jesus’ statement in the Garden of Gethsemane when He said to Peter,

Matthew 26:40  … “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour?”

Even in His great distress the Lord was gracious, suggesting that just one “hour” of prayer would have been immensely helpful to Him and to Peter.

It got us thinking about prayer.  Even one prayer can change the course of history.  Nehemiah prayed for Jerusalem.  Then, as cupbearer to the king, God opened up an opportunity for him to lead a return to rebuild the walls.

Even one church praying can affect spiritual outcomes.  In the early church James and Peter were arrested.  James was martyred.  The church gathered together to pray for Peter.  It was God’s will he be miraculously released by an angel.

Even one city praying can make all the difference.  Jonah announced judgment upon Nineveh.  They repented and prayed.  God stayed His judgment and saved them.

Even One is a week during which you will have an opportunity every day during the week to join us for prayer.  The idea is that every person in our fellowship come to at least one of those prayer meetings.  You can come to more of them; but the challenge is to come to at least one of them.

We can do nothing without prayer. All things can be done by importunate prayer. It surmounts or removes all obstacles, overcomes every resisting force and gains its ends in the face of invincible hindrances.
