What is Podcasting?

The term 'pod' in podcasting comes from the fact that the iPod is the mobile MP3 player that a large number of people use to listen to MP3 files. Podcasting is subscribing to free audio programs that you can listen to WHEN and WHERE you want to via a downloaded MP3 file.

What do I need to Podcast?

All you need is a computer. While podcasting is directed mostly at owners of iPods you do not need an iPod (or any portable MP3 player for that matter) to enjoy podcasts. All your computer needs to subscribe is an internet connection and the free program iTunes. Once subscribed you can listen to downloaded episodes whenever you want on your computer, and new episodes will download automatically when you connect to the internet. If you have an iPod you can transfer the podcast episodes and take them with you wherever you go!

Why should I Podcast?

The free subscription to the Live Service Podcast from Calvary Hanford allows you to listen a second time to a service you've attended.

Once you've subscribed to the podcast, if you happen to miss a service, your computer will automatically download it, thus allowing you to stay current with all the teachings from Pastor Gene.

Downloading the podcasts will also allow you to create a library of teachings for your personal Bible study and quiet time. You will also have access to many other Calvary Chapel Bible Teachers who offer podcast subscriptions.
