Acts 6:8-15 – The Crown
Stephen, one of the most remarkable Christians in the books of Acts, is suddenly hurtled toward martyrdom, despite his incredible potential and God’s great grace in his life.
“The more we learn about this guy, the more surprising it is when we don’t see God deliver him from his enemies. Compare Stephen to Bartholomew. Or Thomas the Twin (who is more commonly referred to as Doubting Thomas). Stephen could speak. He could serve. He could work signs. He could defend the faith. Why didn’t God deliver him?”
