Temple Impliments

We like every week to bring what we call a Prophecy Update.  We show how news and trends in the world are corroborating centuries-old prophecies found in the Bible.

Ever since the Romans overran Jerusalem in the first century the Jews have been without a Temple.  According to prophecies in the Book of Daniel and in the Revelation of Jesus Christ, we expect a Temple to be standing during the seven-year Great Tribulation.  Thus news relating to this future rebuilt Temple always fascinates us as students of prophecy.

On Thursday June 4th it was reported that Rabbi Chaim Richman of the Temple Institute announced the completion of the manufacture of two golden sensos which are to be used by the priests in the service of the soon to be rebuilt Jewish Temple.

The announcement went like this:

The Temple Institute has just completed the creation of two new golden bezichin – frankincense vessels.  Each vessel, made of 150 grams of 14 carat gold is the result of intensive research, planning and painstaking craftsmanship.  The bezichin, like all the vessels created by the Temple Institute, are made in strict accordance to the word of Torah, as it has been handed down from generation to generation since its revelation on Mount Sinai.  The bezichin, like all the vessels created by the Temple Institute, are intended for use in the Divine service of the Holy Temple, may we merit to rebuild it soon.

The Temple Institute has tasked itself with preparing for the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple.  They have already manufactured many of the other objects that will used in the administration of the Temple, such as the Menorah, the Laver, the priestly garments, the golden crown and the blue ephod for the High Priest.  They are also working with the Sanhedrin on blueprints for the construction of the Third Temple.

The article I read goes on to say,

There are a number of things that are preventing the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple.

The ashes of a pure red heifer are required for cleansing the Temple site. The last red heifer born in Israel was found to have several white hairs in its tail, thus disqualifying it from being a suitable candidate for the ritual. The Temple Institute claim to have cracked the DNA code for producing a pure red heifer, so perhaps this may not prove to be such an insurmountable problem.

In related news, on May 26th a Jewish news source, Arut Sheva, ran a story titled, Raad Salah [claims] Netanyahu will Try to Rebuild the Jewish Temple.

Sheikh Raad Salah, leader of the Northern Wing of the Islamic Movement in Israel, believes Prime Minister… Netanyahu will try to rebuild the Jewish Temple.

Speaking at a conference organized by website Islam Online in Doha, Qatar, Salah stated his belief that Netanyahu may try to build the Jewish Temple – which the Islamic preacher called “the false temple” – during his current term after allegedly failing to do so in his first term as Prime Minister in the late 1990s.

The Temple itself really would not be that hard to rebuild for two reasons:

1. The Temple is not a huge architectural complex.  It consists of the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies.  The Holy of Holies is only 900 square feet (if my math is correct!).

2. The location of the Holy of Holies may not require the removal of any Muslim structures.  There is good archaeological evidence that shows alternate sites.

The rebuilding of the Jewish Temple on its original site is what the Bible prophesies will happen.  It is happening – or at least they are getting ready for it to happen.

These are the last days.  We expect Jesus to return imminently to resurrect the dead in Christ and to rapture living believers.

Get ready, stay ready, keep looking up.

Ready or not, Jesus is coming!
